FOOD FOR THOUGHT

If anything is bountiful in our culture, it's advice on food and nutrition.  From microbiotics and macrobiotics to super foods and paleo, gluten-free to carb haters or fat lovers and sugar busters, vegetarian,  protein-rich, and the list goes on... it seems EVERYONE is an expert, and  they all have a best seller to prove it.  So, what's the right answer?  Well, every healthy diet has a few things in common:

EAT FROM THE EARTH

Foods closest to their natural state are the healthiest.  Prepared foods are often low quality, & filled with preservatives, stabilizers & fillers.

EAT A RAINBOW

The color of a fruit or vegetable generally displays its makeup (vitamins, minerals, polyphenosl, bioflavonoids, etc.). Eating a variety of colors gets us a variety of nutrients.

moderation

Essentially, the healthiest people eat a little bit of everything.  The key to happiness seems less about being perfect and more about practicing moderation.
